New Hanro Smitsman-movie Brethren during Dutch film festival premiere
Brothers, the new movie from Hanro Smitsman (Dusk, Flight HS13) will, during the Dutch Film Festival (NFF) in premiere. Achmed Akkabi, Walid Benmbarek and Bilal Wahib play the lead roles in the film.
That makes the NFF Wednesday known. The film tells the story of Hassan and Mourad, who go looking for their missing brother Yasin in Syria. During their search they become involved in the civil war in Syria.
The film is from 23 september to see during the Dutch film festival.
“Brothers, I want to show that particular behavior is often due to personal circumstances, and not necessarily ideologically motivated”, says director Smitsman.
“The film makes you aware of the personal backgrounds of behavior, makes this understandable, and thereby provides a counterweight to all to easy to make judgments about human relationships. Depending on the circumstances, offenders, victims and vice versa.”
The NFF will take place from 20 t/m 29 september 2017, in Utrecht.
