YouTube star Grant Thompson, has been found dead a day after he was reported missing on a paragliding trip

A popular YouTube star known for his live hacking videos, more, was found dead by Utah police after he was reported missing on Monday during a hang-gliding trip.

Grant Thompson, 38, was reported missing on the Pc. George’s Emergency Dispatch Center at 10:30 a.m. Monday after family members became concerned when he didn’t come back from a paragliding trip in the vicinity of the Sand Hollow State Park.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the caller will not be able to get to Thompson on the phone, and he was more than an hour late from the estimated time of arrival. He was last seen leaving the Dixie Springs subdivision.

Mr. Thompson was said to be wearing a GPS tracking device, and the caller was able to provide the authorities with the last known coordinates at about 9:00 pm

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue teams, Life Flight helicopter, were able to track down the YouTuber’s using the updated coordinates collected from the mobile phone to the GPS, just after midnight on Tuesday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Thompson’s death was confirmed on his Instagram, “The King of Random”, in a post office, more than 388,000 followers.

“Grant had a great love and appreciation for his fans around the world … and Grant’s legacy will live on in the English channel and to the global community of which they are made.”

Thompson, who began his channel on life hacks, and random projects that, in 2010, and since then it has gained more than 11 million subscribers on YouTube.

YouTube issued a statement regarding Thompson’s death: “We are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of Grant Thompson), a talented, passionate, and endlessly curious about the creator. We send our deepest condolences to his loving family, The King and queen of all the team and the fans.”

The sheriff’s office said on Tuesday that rescue teams were able to recover from Thompson’s hang gliding and paragliding equipment, and a recording device to see what are the factors that led to the fatal crash.
