YouTube refresh design site and apps
YouTube has for the first time in its twelve year existence, a refreshed logo, and also the site and apps are now gone.
Until now loved YouTube since its creation in 2005, the same logo on, says [YouTube] Tuesday.
That is now slightly changed: the word ‘Tube’ is no longer in a red area, but that area is now a play button in it for the logo. The new logo is, according to YouTube, more suitable for viewing on all screens.
In addition to the new logo, both the site and mobile apps of YouTube changed. The site has a new design that better excludes with the Material Design design language of Android.
There is more space for videos and the site is designed with less color. In addition to the standard white design, desktop users can now also opt for a dark mode. That function is to see to click on the profile picture.
The mobile app also has hot new design, with less color around videos. In addition, the buttons in the Android version of the app to the bottom of the screen to move, for easier access.
Also, it is now possible to watch the videos in reverse to play left or right, tap the screen. With each tap, the video ten seconds to scan forwards or backwards.
The possibility to play videos slower or faster to view is now also available on mobile. Videos in the app also have no black bars more: the player adapts always to the size of the video.
