‘Wunderground’ celebrates 40 years of Brussels metro, underground street art, art, and dance

From 16 to 25 september in the Brussels metro ‘Wunderground’, an arts festival for the fortieth anniversary of the metro in the capital. The program includes street art, graphic art and dansopvoeringen.

On 20 september, it is exactly forty years ago that the Brussels metro for the first time, a road paved by the underground veins of the city. A reason to party, found the STIB.

The Brussels public transport company conjured up for the occasion, the Brussels underground in the ‘Wunderground‘, a track with more street art and dansopvoeringen ten days to show up in the Brussels underground.

Wunderground touch down in a fifteen subway stations. Image enhancement

The arts festival took shape thanks to curator Charlotte Van Buylaere, which, inter alia, for the S. M. A. K worked. Wunderground is one of the initiatives that the image of the city of Brussels and the metro after the attacks of march 22, re-boost. “The goal is to make the strengths of Brussels in all its facets to the outside world to demonstrate and the attractiveness of Brussels in a creative way with visitors in the paint to convert,” says Van Buylaere.
