Writers strike after departure, publisher Mizzi van der Pluijm at Atlas Contact
A number of writers affiliated with the publishing house Atlas Contact, put the pen down until they have enough openness to talk about the departure of editor Mizzi van der Pluijm.
The group seeks clarification of proposed VBK, the parent company, about the cause of the transition and the future of Atlas. To the extent that is, they do nothing more for VBK.
“We fear that the interests of the proposed VBK is not consistent with the values of uitgeverij Atlas Contact,” notify them on the internet platform Scribd.
“As long as VBK us not full disclosure about the departure of Mizzi, and the price that VBK in the coming years for Atlas Contact, we submit out of love for the literature and our publishing house where VBK is concerned the pen down.”
The list of signatories shall specify the names of, among others, Adriaan van Dis, Geert Mak, Yvonne Kroonenberg, the God of der, Mensje van Keulen, Hanna Bervoets and Lieve Joris. This week it was announced that Van der Pluijm leaves to the young competitor, the Das May.
