Wreck of a Second world War sunken American warship found

Researchers have found the wreck of the USS Indianapolis, an American warship from the Second world War, on 30 July 1945 was sunk in the Pacific Ocean, found.
The ship lies at a depth of 18,000 feet (5.5 kilometers) under the surface of the ocean, said the navy.
The cruiser had parts delivered for one of the atomic bombs dropped at the end of the Second world War on Japan were thrown.
During the return trip the ship was, with the 1196 crew on board, torpedoed by a Japanese submarine. It sank in twelve minutes.
About eight hundred people on board knew the sinking ship to leave. Finally, of 316 mariners five days later out of the water. The rest was death, by exhaustion, dehydration, drowning or shark attacks.
