Wreaths In America achieved the goal with the help of FNC viewers

Each grave at Arlington National Cemetery be treated.

It is a long tradition: the provision of seasonal wreaths on veterans’ gravesites at Arlington National Cemetery. Still, it seemed like there was more than 35,000 tombs were planning to start the holidays without a wreath this year.

But on Thursday, the non-profit Wreaths In America, announced that it has fulfilled its purpose — with a number of timely support from the public. “We are able to have a wreath on every veteran’s grave at Arlington National Cemetery this year,” Bre Kingsbury, of Wreaths across America, told “Fox & Friends.”

Volunteers for the Maine-based non-profit organization placed a wreath on every US veteran’s tombstone at Arlington National for a quarter-century. This year, the organization feared that it would fall short.

Kingsbury appeared on Fox News last week, appealing to viewers for help in completing the tradition.

Although the group fulfilled its purpose, Kingsbury said, there is still a need for volunteers for the wreaths on approximately 400,000 headstones in Arlington on Saturday.

Kingsbury called the tradition “a celebration of life,” and noted that through the years, family and friends have joined in on the ceremony.

Kingsbury, said the volunteers are also needed at the 1,300 other cemeteries that are part of the veterans memorial wreaths program, including New York ‘s Long Island National Cemetery and Michigan’s Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

“Now that we are so blessed to have enough wreaths to Arlington, and many of our other 1300 participating locations in the country … now it is all about volunteering,” Kingsbury said.
