Weekly magazine Donald Duck launches on Tuesday on the vt wonen&design fair their wooncollectie, which is designed by the Dutch creators of Donald Duck Weekly magazine. Among other things, the comic strip artists of Donald Duck worked on the designs for the products.
In the collection are various home furnishing products such as furniture, wallpaper, wall stickers and textiles. The collection is developed in collaboration with a number of Dutch manufacturers, including Graham & Brown, and The Squirrel.
“We get on the editorial staff each day about a hundred emails, letters, drawings and photos from readers. It is striking that many to show readers how Donald Duck plays a role in their room with piles of magazines, the posters of Donald Duck on the wall, a Donald Duck duvet, the scheurkalender, a bookcase full of Donald Duck pockets… we have to respond. Like a dream in the fantasy world of Duckstad. Literally,” explains editor-in-chief Joan Columns.
In the development of the wooncollectie is deliberately targeted to the whole family. Suzan Schouten, head of domain, Children & Teens, says: “A large part of the Donald Duck readers consists of meelezende parents. We have selected a wide range of home furnishing products, allowing you to not only a children’s room more cheerful, but also a study room or even the toilet. The wooncollectie is not only fun for kids, but secretly also for adults.”
