Woman with infant leads police on wild chase

The woman later tried to escape on the foot while wearing the baby.

The authorities in Texas released video on Friday shows a woman leading police on a high-speed chase before crashing into another car and trying to carjack another truck while holding a baby.

The images released by the Texas Department of Safety shows the car chase in Bexar County in June, after the female driver, who of all outstanding warrants, fled at a high speed, and approached 100 mph at times.

The police used a tire deflation device to disable the front tire of the Mercedes SUV, but the woman continued to flee, crossing into oncoming traffic at times.

Ultimately, the woman lost control and struck with the back of a pick-up truck at an intersection.

In the video, the woman can then be seen getting out of the SUV and running from the police, while the baby in a sling.


After almost dropping the baby, the woman then jumps in the passenger seat of a passing car, which the police said they tried to carjack.

The woman walked with the child through traffic after crashing into another car.

A trooper then arrived and blocked the other vehicle to escape, drawing his gun on the woman, while a second trooper, go in safely and get the baby out of the car.

The police said the woman, who was not named, was charged with evading arrest, possession of a controlled substance and endangering a child.
