Woman pleads guilty to West Virginia, the pastor of the dead

BECKLEY, W. Va. – A woman has pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the killing of a 69-year-old West Virginia pastor.

The Register-Herald reports the 21-year-old Camille Iman Browne entered the plea Tuesday. They also pleaded guilty to burglarizing several homes.

Prosecutors say Browne broke in Ronald Lee Browning’s home in Beckley in February 2015 and bludgeoned him to death. Browne reportedly told the police that she hit Browning on the head with a glass vase full of coins and kicked him in the stomach.

Browning was a U.S. Army Veteran and pastor of Cool Ridge Church.

Browne’s lawyer has said that the murder was the result of a “substance-induced psychotic” reaction after Browne smoked marijuana the night before.

Browne faces 10 to 40 years for second degree murder and one to 15 years for each burglary costs.
