GRANBY, Colorado. – A woman is dead and two children injured after a fall from a ski lift on a small Colorado ski area.
The police says that the three persons, all of whom visit from out of state, fell from a lift Thursday in the Ski Granby Ranch. Police say one of the children was admitted to the hospital in stable condition and the other was flown to Children’s Hospital in a suburb of Denver, for the treatment.
Police spokeswoman Schelly Olson says ski resort officials reported they fell about 20 metres on snow. She said state regulators who oversee chair lifts help to investigate.
The ski area about 90 miles west of Denver promotes itself as a family-friendly resort without the hassle of a larger, more well-known ski resorts.
The death comes during one of the busiest weeks of the season for the ski resorts in Colorado.
