On the trail of the unaudited Trump dossier
Former senior British diplomat, Sir Andrew Wood, says he was instructed to reach Christopher Steele, Sen. McCain on the dossier; Catherine Herridge goes into the deep-for the ” Special report.’
EXCLUSIVE – the man who says he acted as “go-between” in the past year to inform sen. John McCain about the controversial “dossier” with salacious allegations about then-candidate Donald Trump speaks out, revealing how the ex-British spy, who researched the document helped coordinate its publication, the FBI, the media and Capitol Hill.
“My mission was essentially a go-to tell between and a messenger, that the senator and aides who gave such a dossier,” Sir Andrew Wood told Fox News in an exclusive interview with the senior executive producer, Pamela K. Browne.
Fox News spoke with wood in the year 2017, the Halifax International Security Forum in Nova Scotia, Canada. As Britain’s Ambassador in Moscow, 1995-2000 wood, the end of Russian President Boris Yeltsin and the rise of Vladimir Putin experienced.
Shortly after the U.S. presidential election in November 2016, the Arizona GOP Sen. McCain spoke at the same conference for security policy. Wood says that he was commissioned to achieve by the former British spy Christopher Steele, the senior Republican, the wood called “a good man”, the unverified document.

Wood insists that he is his good friend and colleague of many years, was never prepared for you to read the dossier, that. It was the job of opposition research company Fusion-GPS and funded by the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton campaign.
Came in August of 2016, “[Steele] to me, to tell me what was in it, and why it’s … important,” says Wood. “He made it very clear … Yes, it is raw intelligence, but it needed everything in the right context before you can judge it is complete.”
August 2016 is a critical time, shortly after the FBI opened the Russia-intervention probe, and then Director James Comey recommended that prior to law enforcement for Clinton’s mishandling of classified information.
Wood, said Steele had “already been in contact with the FBI” at the time.
“He said there was corroborating evidence in the United States, which I had assumed, he was just an American company,” says Wood.
British court records, contribution from Fox News, as well as U.S. congressional testimony revealed that Steele was directed, and paid at least $168,000 through the Fusion of GPS-founder Glenn Simpson, press, research, the fall of five American media. According to British court documents, Steele met with The New York Times (twice), The Washington Post (twice), CNN, The New Yorker, and Yahoo News (twice).
“Each of these interviews, conducted in person and with a member of the Fusion is also available,” according to the records in connection with separate civil proceedings against Steele, and Fusion of GPS.
Wood said that he had heard, the Fusion of GPS, as the group Steele was active, but had “never heard of that, Mr. Simpson.”
Three weeks after Trump won the presidential election, at the Canadian security conference, the details were completed for the dossier to hand off to McCain.

Together with the senator -, wood-and the McCain Institute for International Leadership, David J. Kramer attended the Canadian conference.
British court records state McCain ordered Kramer is a personal training from Steele in Surrey, outside of London, and then back to Washington, DC, where the Fusion of GPS would McCain be copied with the hard disk.
In January, McCain is officially the dossier gave to the FBI, which already has its own copy of Steele.
Of note, the in the official program for the November 2016 Canadian conference as a participant, Rinat Akhmetshin was the same Russian lobbyist in the Trump Tower five months earlier, in June, for a very intensive scrutiny meeting with Donald Trump Jr, and others.
It is not known whether Akhmetshin no contact with McCain or Kramer.
Fusion of GPS and Kramer does not respond to requests for comment from Fox News.
For a comment from McCain’s office, referral to a January statement, which said, that he could not assess the dossier of the accuracy.
