‘The wood’ by the Dutch author Jeroen Brouwers, about the abuses in the Roman Catholic Church, will be filmed.
According to the publisher of the book, Atlas, has production company “Cold in Alaska” the rights of the book purchased. “Cold in Alaska” is the Belgian actor Wim Opbrouck, who is also a number of years the artistic director of NT Gent.
The story is about a by monks led jongenspensionaat in the fifties. Everything what is not acceptable, but which is silent. “Also the film, like the novel, a chilling blow that confronts the spectator with the oppression and the lurid sexual abuse within the church.
