Willemijn Verkaik will play lead role in musical ‘Ghost’ in Berlin
The Dutch actress Willemijn Verkaik has again a significant role to tackle in a foreign musical. They played from 7 december, the lead role of Molly in the German version of the musical Ghost.
The musical is played in the Theater des Westens by Stage Entertainment in Berlin.
Verkaik is in Ghost – Das Musical in addition to the German musicalacteur Alexander Klaws. The musical is based on the eponymous film with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore about a couple in which the man in a robbery comes to life. While his wife Molly is in mourning, try Sam from the sky in contact with her to explain to make clear whom he has murdered.
Ghost went in 2011, premiered on the West End and was a year later also appeared on Broadway. Author Bruce Joel Rubin, who in 1991, Oscar received for his movie script, also wrote the script for the musicalbewerking. The music and lyrics are by Dave Stewart (The Eurythmics) and Glen Ballard.
The musical in 2012 will also come to the Netherlands, but producer Joop van den Ende let later know here anyway. Now bring Stage Entertainment to the show to Germany.
Willemijn Verkaik became world-famous thanks to her portrayal of the witch Elphaba in various versions of the musical Wicked. She was most recently a couple of months with this role in London. In addition, she played Elphaba in New York, Stuttgart, Oberhausen and rotterdam. Further, it was Verkaik seen in musicals like Tarzan, Mamma Mia!, Aida and Elisabeth.
Also, she was heard as Elsa in the Dutch version of the Disney success Frozen.
