The British band Will and The People, after a turbulent period back again with new music. According to lead singer Will Rendle gives the number Gigantic, that Friday has appeared, the weather is good, where the band currently stands.
“We are a lot mature,” says Rendle against NU.nl. “Seven, eight years ago, we were a bunch of kids who are just having fun. Now there is a bit more coherence in our music, and it is a little easier to digest.”
The last time that Will and The People, known from the song Lion in the Morning Sun, a big show gave in the Netherlands was more than three years ago, in Paradiso. “Then we had some time for ourselves is necessary,” says Rendle. When last year their geluidsproducent died, got the band with another setback.
“We saw him as the fifth member of our band,” says the singer. “After his death we slowly started writing new music and we thought what we wanted. It feels good to now again with new music to come and perform. Sometimes you need to step back to move forward.”
A new album is coming, according to Rendle “as soon as possible”. “All the songs are finished and most of them are also already included. But we don’t want to rush into things.”
Will and The People performed Thursday night at at Cinetol in Amsterdam. The band, which in addition to Rendle consists of drummer Charlie Harman, keyboardist Jim Ralphs and bassist Jamie Rendle, indicates there Friday and Saturday also a show.
