In general, travelers should to set up rate alerts in advance. Expedia’s annual Air Travel Outlook Report to 2018 shows that the lowest average ticket prices found for bookings made for 30 or more days in advance. “With few exceptions,” the report said, the cheapest rates for economy flights were booked on a Sunday.”

That does not necessarily mean that you need to book your next trip on a Sunday to get the lowest price, because that could instead be an indication that the passenger flight, shopping in the weekend, there were more budget-conscious.

To get the best price on your next flight, a alert now. Hipmunk, the content manager, Kelly Soderlund, told Travel + Leisure travellers should set up alerts four to six weeks in advance of domestic travel, and between eight and twelve weeks for international flights. And there is nothing between you and your environment even earlier.

After all, the mere act of planning a vacation, it is demonstrated that makes us happier.
