A 12-year-old Alabama girl who was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after she was accidentally shot and wounded two teenage boys, police said.
The authorities responded to a report of a person shot in the vicinity of the playground area to the east of Birmingham, and at around 3:30 am
The two teens were wounded by gunfire Tuesday afternoon in an area to the east of Birmingham, police say.
Responding to the officials, two boys, between the ages of 13 and 14 with gunshot wounds. A police sergeant, said the boy was critically injured; the other boy’s injuries are life-threatening. Both were admitted to the hospital, WRBL reported.
The police have arrested a 12-year-old girl two blocks away, after receiving tips from residents. The preliminary results suggested the gun had been discharged, while the little girl was playing with her, according to police.

Birmingham’s police commissioner, Patrick Smith has called the shooting an “unfortunate” situation and urged the public to be a responsible gun owner is to make sure that everyone is safe and secure.
