A woman’s pink leopard-print dress she plans to wear to a wedding reception is branded as a “cheap” online.

Asking for advice on Mumsnet to see if it is suitable, people branded mini-dress “cheap”, not “formal” or “special” enough.

The unnamed woman tried to explain that the dress would not be that short hair, she is only 5″4.

She said: “I am shopping for a new outfit for a wedding reception I go in a few weeks fall in love with this dress.

“Do you think it is ok for a wedding reception?

“It’s not as short on me as it is on the model (I am only 5ft 4). I was thinking I would wear it with black tights and ankle boots.

“The reception is a bar/restaurant, so not a particularly pretty affair I guess?

“It’s a fun bar! But not super chic.”

The dress is, she fell for the Hali roar dress, of All Saints, which costs a whopping $248.50, but promises to “add a touch of the 80s to your wardrobe.”

Despite the hefty price-tag, people do not think it was suitable.

Comments, someone said: “Hmm, it doesn’t seem special enough with black boots and black tights, but I love making an effort for weddings, as I never dress up other times.

“Where is it from, looks a bit cheap in the photo.”

Another person said: “It’s a nice dress, but I don’t think that wearing it with leggings and boots is really ‘dressy’ enough for a wedding – even if it’s just the reception.”

The hit of the critics, the guest added, “doesn’t look particularly cheap in the real life and the ruching hides all kinds of sins!”

Not everyone thought the dress was a no-go, with one person suggesting how to jazz it up.

She said: “It is a beautiful dress and would be good for a low key reception.

“I’d go with sheer tights and heels, in contrast to black ankle boots.”
