Wattimena pretty pathetic back in opening round world cup of darts
Jermaine Wattimena is there Sunday night, has not succeeded in the second round of the world cup of darts to reach. The 28-year-old Dutchman suffered a pretty losing 3-1 defeat against the Northern Irishman Daryl Gurney.
Wattimena came in the biggest portion of the party, not only against his opponent, who is in London as 24th placed. The first two sets went rapidly to the North Irishman.
In the third set, had Wattimena as a revival, and that gave the news of the world setwinst. In set number four was Gurney, however, is clearly the best. After a number of missed matchdarts he beat in the end anyway.
Defending champion Michael van Gerwen and Benito van de Pas reached earlier this week the second round. Jerry Hendriks went just like Wattimena in the opening round down.
Jelle Klaasen, Raymond van Barneveld, Vincent van der Voort, Christian Kist, Ron Meulenkamp and Jeffrey de Graaf are yet to come into action at the world CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Later Sunday night appears hexadecimal world champion Phil Taylor at the oche. The Englishman, when placed fourth in London, is up against the Australian David Platt, who earlier in the day the preliminary round survived.
