The documentary I’m Not Him brings the conclusion of Maarten Devolderes first solo album as Warhaus in the picture, partly on the deck in the hold of his own boat.
For good acoustics you need with your boat up under a bridge sailing. At least, that appears from the very opening of the documentary, which Maarten Devoldere – you know him of Balthazar, and now Warhaus – with a trumpet to the lips, and the perfect sound are looking for on the deck of his floating studio.
Devoldere took We Fucked a Flame into Being in the summer of 2015. The accompanying documentary’I’m Not Him, to the opening track of the album, highlights the different aspects of that recording process.
Devoldere, literally, behind the helm. In to studio in a converted boat tolerates only the temporary company of his girlfriend Sylvie ‘Soldier’s Heart’, Kreusch, her voice granted to multiple Warhaussongs. And the camera of director Wouter Bouvijn, who previously also the clip for single The Good Lie turned.
If Warhaus touring Maarten Devoldere this autumn in Europe. In Belgium, he is 9 september Leffingeleuren, on 15 October in the AB Club in Brussels on 4 november at the Vooruit in Ghent. We Fucked a Flame Into Being has appeared on 2 september at PIAS.
