For the music video of Wrong Turn, her first single since her participation in the Eurovision song contest, took Blanche, the Spanish director Nur Casadevall in the arm. She turned in addition to her own work already modefilms for Vogue, and you will notice the results: a lot of set – and kledingwissels all of which fit perfectly in the same, sumptuous atmosphere. The production is in the hands of the world-renowned CANADA, among others, responsible for the video of Tame Impala’s ” The Less I Know The Better, and Blink Productions, earlier video clips for Years & Years and The Weeknd finalised.

Casadevall worked the story, about young women in a closed, familiar world, in his own words from The Virgin Suicides (Sofia Coppola), Yorgos Lanthimos’ Dogtooth and Mustang (Deniz Gamze Ergüven) in mind. ‘Blanche and her group try to escape. They travel through several corridors, rooms and memories, the garden in. But when they finally reached the border ranges, they realize that they are by the space float. There is no exit, they are caught, ” says Casadevall.

Not slavishly follow

In an interview with Knack Focus explained Blanche the song a few months ago. “It’s about wrong choices in life, or at least decisions that others as a bad choice. But it is not because everyone is in the same direction, that you slavishly have to follow.’

‘For the sake of clarity: that you can not one-on-one on me apply, that you get once in a while when you collaborate with songwriters. Sometimes I deliver itself a sentence, sometimes I have to figure out how someone else’s text to me. That makes it rather difficult to post to explain. In my head it all failed, but as I am about such texts against, say, a journalist must write in detail, it seems likely tiré par les cheveux.’

Wrong Turn is the first single from Blanches debut album. “A huge break in style you don’t have to expect. It is still electro-indie-pop and I sing still pretty low. Dark numbers, I want to continue to do, but I want to avoid that, I vastrijd in a genre, ” says the Walloon singer.
