Walt Disney World Skyliner cable car crash that caused 3 people to go to the hospital.

The sky is the limit for Walt Disney World’s brand new aerial cable car. The Florida theme park has announced that the Skyliner’s attraction to “magically transported” to one million guests in its first month of service.

In particular, the Skyliner was closed for more than a week after it was clearly a mechanical malfunction left some guests stranded in the air for hours and hours on the night of Oct. 5. The three men were said to have been admitted to the hospital in connection with the incident, and Disney closed the ride to investigate the issue.

On Monday, the Disney Parks Blog has revealed that one million parkgoers will have to jump on board the Skyliner ride to be “magically transported” from high above the city’s iconic entertainment hub, and one month after its Sept. 29 in the opening.

“Since opening its doors a few weeks ago, the popular, state-of-the-art transportation has been provided as a convenient way to get around the Walt Disney World Resort, with an added touch of powder. The gorgeous, Disney-Skyliner cars glide across the sky with a beautiful bird’s-eye-view of the house,” the blog post said.

The release continued to claim that the cable car system has already become a popular way to travel to resort locations to ” as the unique connecting Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios hotels Disney’s Art of Animation, Pop Century, and Caribbean Beach resorts. With the Skyliner you will also have the services of Disney’s new Riviera, the Resort when it opens in December this year.

“We are very proud to celebrate this exciting milestone for the Disney Skyliner and we look forward to offering you the best transport experience of the many, many, many more! the Walt Disney World Resort, this Resort in the future,” the blog post read.

Disney actually cut to a promotional video advertising the Skyliner ride on the same day on YouTube, with guests fawning over their experiences with “the magic flight in the world” at the 43-second clip.


A lot of description of the points of view of the Skyliner as “beautiful” and “thank you”, to express their appreciation for the opportunity to see the park from a different point of view.”

Quick, easy, I don’t have to drive,” said one of the men.

“It’s the event of the day,” one woman reflected.

“Anyone would have to do as much as possible, it’s a great time,” another rider chimed in.

Earlier this month, three people were reportedly admitted to the hospital and was released after a clear of the mechanical failure of the Skyliner attraction that caught the riders out for an hour.

When contacted for comment, a Disney rep will be offered, Fox News released the following statement regarding the accident:

“We have a team eagerly looking into the cause of Saturday’s failure at the Scheduled line up of the Disney Skyliner. We have been in contact with our guests, many of whom were on the Skyliner to more than three hours before we were able to get the system to reboot,” a government official said on Oct. 9. “We express our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused, and will continue to work with each and every guest as an individual.”


After a temporary closure, and the investigation, the cable car system opened to the public on Oct. 14.
