Did you know that walt Disney World has closed four times a year, or is that the iconic theme park and is not located in the city of Orlando? Please take a look at some of the interesting facts that you might not have known about the famous Disney resort and spa.

As you walk around Disney World on a hot day, the debate about which drive to check it out, and enjoy some of the delicious dishes that you must try, the chances are that you will not be swatting away mosquitoes. You might take it for granted, as it seems to be that there’s no nasty blood sucking bugs in the Most Magical Place on Earth.

But then, when you start to think about it, it will be even better. Walt Disney World in Florida, after all, an outdoor is filled with swampland. In fact, it is the area in which the property is used for nothing but swampland! So, how is Disney World, allegedly as mosquito-free.

Well, it is not the wonderful Disney magic method that will completely eliminate all of the bugs. Some of the bugs still make it into the park, because there’s no technique can be 100 per cent effective. However, the combination of a number of different methods of pest control, Disney may have a generally pest-free park is right in the middle of swamp land. And the rest of the park, control methods, reportedly, is to be traced back to one man.

Walt Disney, music by Joe Potter

If you’ve taken the ferry from the Ticket and Transportation Center to the Magic Kingdom, you may have noticed that the name “General Joe Potter” on one of the boats. An MIT graduate, engineering, expert, Major General William “Joe” Potter, meets with Walt Disney during the 1964 World’s Fair. Potter had previously served as the governor of the Panama Canal Zone, an area plagued by malaria-carrying mosquitoes.

According to Christoper Luke, the author of the “Top Disney”: The 100 Top-Ten Lists of the best of the Best from Disney, this is the place where harry Potter had been developed in-depth knowledge of pest control, when one of the engineers who are battling to take control of the swarm. As a Potter, and Disney, was speaking at the World’s Fair, formerly mentioned, the background in the point of view of controlling mosquitoes.

Disney “hired him on the spot” and turn it in to the cost of keeping mosquitoes out of the vast theme park he was planning on building in the town of Florida, Lucas said.

Running water

Disney’s methods were not to kill the bugs, but the errors occur in the park at all. Thus, in their methods of targeting the young in the town they make it a park, not an ideal environment for mosquitoes to live and work in, or to lay their eggs. One of the ways in which she, allegedly, this is to ensure that the park has no standing water, the mosquitoes are drawn to water, and it is an ideal place for them to lay eggs.

“You [need] to get rid of their breeding ground, where the stagnant water,” Lucas says.

But, as you can imagine, swamps and marshes, filled with stagnant water. And so, when Potter’s got to get to work on the construction of walt Disney World, and he was immediately on the construction of drainage ditches to remove the water, and the conversion of the marshy country’s arable land. And ditches—known as “Joe’s ditches”—that are still in use today, in order to get all of the water at the Disney parks are constantly on the move.

“The guests usually do not know it…but the water is constantly flowing,” Lucas said. “When you’re walking around in a body of water, there is a fountain in the middle of it, or they’re doing something to keep it flowing.”

If Disney is preparing for the construction of a new home, as one of the best Disney resorts for a perfect vacation for the entire family, and they buy a lot more land than the house itself, so that they will be able to build up routes so that they can keep the water in motion.

Architecture

Disney buildings are being designed, in order to avoid that stagnant water could collect. “All the buildings are built in such a way that the water is flowing from [them],” Lucas says. “With all of the rainstorms, as the water was found to be in the building…then it could be a swimming pool, and the mosquitoes would hatch from their eggs and you would have thousands and thousands of mosquitoes.”

So, walt Disney World, buildings have a specific form that does not allow water to collect. This is something that the guests would never notice it, but it is very effective.

“They were in each building, it is bent, or designed in a manner so that there is no place for the water to pick up and sit down,” Lucas said. “The architecture is truly a feast for the eyes, but it also serves a purpose: it makes It less conducive for the mosquitoes.”

See if you can spot this architectural style, on your next trip to the parks to visit, these things are driving to Disney in 2019.

Garden design

Even the plants in and around the walt Disney World property have been chosen with the aim of it is to eliminate standing water. The plants have been selected because they do not allow water to pool in them. Bodies of water are found to be free of the plants, such as water, which mosquito larvae can hide under.

“They have the stock to fill those areas with minnows, goldfish, and a species of fish called the mosquito fish eat the larvae,” Lucas says.

Cans—no, no, not that kind of

Right from the get-go, Disney made it clear that he did not want the nasty chemicals floating around in the park.

“[He] didn’t want to mess up the environment, and, therefore, they were not able to make use of pest control agents,” Lucas says. “It would have been easy to just spray the whole thing, but he wanted it to be something natural.” So, instead of pesticides, the park makes use of the unusual insect repellent gloves of garlic. Mosquitoes are notorious, can’t stand the smell of garlic, so Disney the spray is an extract of the park.

“The amount of money they use is so small that people won’t be able to smell, but the mosquitoes are very sensitive to it,” Lucas said. It is a very big operation, but he acknowledges that it would not have been possible without the former.

“Without him, they would have built it, but they had a problem with mosquitoes,” he said. We are very happy that he is having a boat!!!!
