Waiting time for ivf patients UMC continues on
Per 1 February the fertiliteitslab of the UMC Utrecht on a half power spin. This has as a result that the waiting time for the 150 patients already in treatment will continue to rise.
The hospital let them know that they must wait on results of quality control checks that to april take place. A spokesman let the AD know that they are for that time, however, hope the capacity of the lab to be able to turn.
Both participants of ivf and ICSI procedures as well as other treatments as inseminaties with donorzaad will now have to wait longer.
At the end of december it became known that in the fertilization of 26 women as possible, the sperm of the male of another pair are used. The opportunity arose because of this that they are pregnant, is touched with the seed of another man.
Also participating in ivf – and ICSI-treatment in the four hospitals that are dependent on the UMC will now have to wait longer. At the Rijnstate hospital in Arnhem, netherlands it goes to 38 people, and the St. Antonius Hospital in Nieuwegein weekly about five couples on the waiting list.
The Meander Medical Centre in Amersfoort has more than twenty on the waiting list. The Diakonessenhuis in Utrecht can not report how many people there are now.
The St. Anthony is considering to cooperate with more hospitals, an ivf lab. They hope the better risk spread.
