Vice President Pence West Point said to be the most diverse graduating class in the history, you go to war for America at some point in their life.
Pence deals with the U.S. military Academy 2019 graduating class of more than 980 cadets of the institution’s 221st commencement on Saturday morning in West Point, NY
“It is a virtual certainty that you will have to fight on a battlefield for America at some point in your life,” the Vice President said to the graduates. “You lead soldiers into battle. It is going to happen.”
“Some of you will said the fight against the radical Islamic terrorists in Afghanistan and in Iraq,” he said. “Some of you will join the fight on the Korean Peninsula and in the Indo-Pacific region, where North Korea threatened the peace and an increasingly militarized China calls for our presence in the region. Some of you will sign up the battle in Europe, where an aggressive Russia seeking to re, the international borders with violence. And some of them might also be asked to serve in this hemisphere.”

“And when that day comes, I know you will move to the sound of the weapons and do your duty, and you fight and you will win,” he said. “The American people expect nothing less.“

The graduating class, their families and the other participants also heard Pence say, “you take the lead, I promise you, your commander in chief will always have your back. President Donald Trump is the best friend of the men and women of our armed forces ever.”
The cadets of the West Point exit, as U.S. army lieutenants.
During his comments, Pence noted that Trump has proposed a $750 billion defense budget for the year 2020 and said the United States “is, once again, embrace our role as the leader of the free world.”

Of 2019 cadets 223 women, 34 of whom are black, are included. Both totals are all-time-highs completed since the first female cadets in 1980. The Academy graduated its 5.000 th woman Saturday.

The 110 African Americans who were completed, doubling the number from 2013. There were 88 Spanish literature studied.

West Point held other events in the run-up to the opening, including a wreath-laying ceremony on Tuesday with the Academy, the oldest living graduate, retired Colonel Doniphan Carter, class of 1944 and a graduation parade on Friday, the Westchester Journal News reported.
