An undersea volcanic eruption, is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean near Tonga, while the sinking of another small island nearby.
The former island of Lateiki is now submerged, according to the news website Matangi Tonga. The web site lists, with reference to the geologist Taaniela Kula, that is, the new Lateiki the island is about 328 feet wide and 1,312 feet long.
