LONDON (Reuters) – the Mobile phone of Vodafone group conducted a successful test connecting the next generation of 5G smartphones to its network for the first time as it prepares to launch 5G in a number of European cities later this year, said on Wednesday.

Vodafone said that it was made of a ultra-high resolution of 4K video-call during the trials in Madrid and Barcelona, at speeds up to 10 times faster than the current 4G technology.

Global commercial launch of 5G is expected to be in 2020, and in some countries, led by the United States, China and South Korea have already announced or carried out implementations on a small scale.

The technology is likely to first be used for private or industrial networks, the national roll-outs in the consumer’s way behind.
