Vluchtelingenfilm Tim Haars to see at Nederlands Film Festival

The short Dutch film Route du Soleil, starring New Kids-actor Tim Haars and David Lucieer, is shown at the Dutch Film Festival. That has producer Smarthouse Friday published.

Route du Soleil, talks about the two friends Ivo and Bram in the pub in a vluchtelingendiscussie end up. They differ on this subject of the opinion and make a bizarre appointment. Ivo, who says that they are welcome in the Netherlands, takes a refugee in the house and Bram, that it is takers, it brings one back to his country of origin. The realization of this appointment is however completely out of hand.

In the film, four refugees who are currently in a refugee camp to stay. They are present at the world premiere of the film on september 23. After that, the movie is still several times at the NFF, among others, in the programme of the CJP Serves. Also is Route Soleil selected for a number of foreign festivals.


“I would like to tell this story because I need to feel to respond to the growing divide that I see arise in the world,” says director Karsten the Merrier. “In this world of dichotomy, we can be what bridges to use, and that is what I want with this film. To build the bridge. Or an attempt to do that.”

The makers have the money for the film, largely collected through the website Cinecrowd.
