Vitesse rents striker Castaignos for a season of Sporting
Luc Castaignos plays this season on a rental basis for Vitesse. The 24-year-old striker for a year, rented from Sporting Portugal.
Castaignos is since last year summer, under contract with Sporting, but the former Feyenoorder came during his first season in Portugal barely in action and would like to Vitesse again minutes.
“I have good conversations with Vitesse. The choice feels good and I want to display are important for a team. We want to do with Vitesse in all competitions as good as possible to join in and I want to make my contribution,” said Castaignos.
Vitesse drew earlier this summer with Tim Matavz from FC Augsburg in a different striker. “We wanted the spitspositie as well as possible double-occupied. With the arrival of Luc is that successful”, explains technical director Mo Allach.
“Luc knows what is asked of a striker, both in the Premier league and European context. Now Luc is connected, we have also in the giro plenty of competitive ability.”
For his transition from last year to Sporting played Castaignos a season for Eintracht Frankfurt, with him in the summer of 2015, took over FC Twente. Rather was born in Schiedam, under contract with Internazionale and Feyenoord.
The Rotterdammers went through Castaignos the youth. He made in september 2009 his debut in the main power.
In addition to Castaignos and Matavz hired Vitesse this summer, Thulani Serero (Ajax), Thomas Bruns (Heracles Almelo), Bryan Linssen (FC Groningen), Remko Pasveer (PSV) and Mukhtar Ali (Chelsea). In addition, there were Chelsea players, Fankaty Dabo, Charlie Colkett, Mason Mount and Matt Miazga rented.
