nearvideo-Tucker: 2020 Democrats battle to be the most extreme on immigration
The democratic presidential candidates on the stage at the first debate.
Several years ago, a famous politician has a message to Central American families, supplied: “do not send their children to the limits … If you make it, you will be sent back.”
It was not Mitch McConnell. It was not Donald Trump.
This was stated by President Obama in 2014. The warning was among the many harsh statements that the democratic President, as he then coveted flood of illegal immigration across the U.S.-Mexico border.
But this message is a world away from how Democrats 2019 to discuss immigration, to illustrate how far it is moved to the left side of the party has in a short period of time. The lead-off night in the Democratic presidential primary debate featured a heated discussion on a candidate to call — by the way, a former Obama Cabinet exceeds official — for the decriminalisation of illegal border crossing.

Obama, five years ago, had a completely different attitude. His advice in relation to children who are looking to secretly across the border? Keep Out Of The Way.
“That is our direct message to families in Central America: do not send your children to the borders,” Obama said in a 2014 interview with ABC News. “If you make it, you will be sent back. More importantly, they could not make it.”
Obama warned of the dangers of human trafficking and other dangers, the children would be illegal in the United States, and was not to say shy, he would turn away, those who were caught.
In 2011, Obama signed a bill that called for 1,500 new border agents.
In the same year, as the ABC interview, Obama said that the US border staff should be able to use the “flood of illegal crossings and speed the return of those who do not cross-over.” He also said, “Undocumented workers broke our immigration laws, and I believe they must be held accountable.”
Wednesday night, the Democratic debate featured a very different philosophy.
As Julian Castro promoted the crossing of the concept of decriminalization of illegal border, he criticized Beto O’rourke for only the support of a decriminalization for the refugees from violence, and asylum.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., in addition, the repeal of the law called that makes illegal immigration a crime. “We should not criminalize, mamas and babies, try to escape violence at home, or try to build a better future,” she told HuffPost.

In 2010, Obama said, “The presence of so many illegal immigrants makes a mockery of all those who go through the process of immigration legally.”
