WINDER, Ga. Video released by investigators shows a man who died in custody shouting and struggling as Georgia police officers trying to subdue him.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has said a 30-year-old Charles Williams died in custody after Auburn police brought him to the Barrow County detention center on Jan. 27. He was arrested on charges of battery and cruelty to children.
The nearly nine-minute video released Tuesday by the GBI shows Williams restless in the back of the police car. An official warns it will use a stun gun if he does not cooperate.
Williams struggle as the deputies try to remove him from the vehicle and someone shouts out, “Tase him.” Williams is fighting with the deputies, and calls even a number of minutes on the ground before he still.
Just before the video ends, one of the delegates says: “Start CPR.”
