Veldwijk will FC Groningen back in Eredivisie

Lars Veldwijk returns after one season back in the Premier league. The 25-year-old striker is Wednesday afternoon presented at FC Groningen.

Veldwijk comes on the Belgian team KV Kortrijk, that to him the past four months leased to the Norwegian Aalesunds FK, and chooses the offer of Groningen above that of Vitesse and ADO Den Haag.

It is not yet known for how many years Veldwijk is going to draw at Groningen. He came in the Netherlands previously for FC Volendam, FC Utrecht, FC Dordrecht and Excelsior.

In the season 2014/2015 played Veldwijk on behalf of Nottingham Forest in the Championship, the second level of England. In fourteen games he didn’t score a goal.

Since last year, Veldwijk also Zui-African international. His father was in the African country of birth, so he may come out for ‘Bafana Bafana’.

Sixth reinforcement

Veldwijk is the sixth reinforcement of Groningen. Previously attracted the northerners Ritsu Doan (Gamba Osaka, rent), Kevin Begois (PEC Zwolle), Mike te Wierik (Heracles Almelo), Django Warmerdam (Ajax) and Todd Kane (Chelsea, rent).

On the other hand, the departure of Hedwiges Maduro (not yet known), Jason Davidson (Huddersfield Town, was rented), Tom Hiariej (Central Coast Mariners), Peter van der Vlag (stopped), Desevio Payne (Excelsior), Alexander Sörloth (FC Midtjylland), Bryan Linssen (Vitesse) and Stefan van der Leij (Willem II).

Veldwijk has a contract until July 31 at Aalesunds and then returns after his presentation in Groningen back to Norway. He may, therefore, not with his new club on a training camp to Germany.
