Van Gogh Museum welcomes millionth visitor of 2017
Again, the Van Gogh Museum has a record made in the welcoming of the millionth visitor of the year. That came Monday, two weeks earlier than last year.
The museum shows since the beginning of this year, a growth of the number of visitors by 10 percent compared to the same period in 2016.
Last year went to the museum a record number of nearly 2.1 million visitors. Not only many foreign tourists know the museum in Amsterdam, also the number of Dutch visitors rose. A fifth of the people who the Van Gogh Museum feel to it, comes from our own soil.
The museum shows also a considerable increase of online sales of tickets with a start time. Museumgangers plan their visit for a certain period of time so they are not in long queues, arrive. This also leads to a better spread of visitors across the day.
