Van Dijk sees winner against City is not as decisive duel in title

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk does not think that the winner against Manchester City before a decision will be make in the title. The Orange international is expected to be a particularly difficult race for his team next Thursday at Etihad Stadium.

“This year We have very well closed and hopefully we can do that after the new year to continue”, says Van Dijk Monday on the website of Liverpool.

The ‘Reds’ took last Saturday in their last match of this calendar year with the 5-1 against Arsenal. After twenty matches, the ‘Reds’ solid-to-head in the Premier League.

The advantage on the number two to Manchester City, that in recent weeks two defeats recovered, amounts to seven points. Nevertheless believe Of Dike not that the winner against City for the decision can be make in the title.

“We would love to win the City, but it is very heavy,” says the 27-year-old Van Dyke. “It is undoubtedly a beautiful race, but certainly not a decisive match.”

Liverpool achieved last weekend with a 5-1 victory at Arsenal. ()

“We will certainly have setbacks,”

Liverpool lost this season not a single league game and only got eight goals in the Premier League. Van Dijk is aware that the situation in a number of lesser results, however, may just flip.

“The confidence is definitely with us, but after a number of matches simply for change’s sake,” said the defender. “We will undoubtedly be faced with setbacks. It’s all about how you will deal with them and how you react. Up to now, to manage that very well.”

Van Dijk was this season in all matches played in the base at Liverpool, but he has absolutely no need for rest.

“I do not need rest,” he says. “Everyone wants every game to play, I also. I’m not keen on the bank or on the stand, I just want to continue. As long as I fit feel and it goes well, I stay up just to play everything.”

The top match between Manchester City and Liverpool will begin Thursday in the Etihad Stadium at 21.00.
