Van der Mark in the picture, as a substitute for Rossi for MotoGP race in Aragon
Michael van der Mark is in the picture as a replacement for Valentino Rossi in the Grand Prix of Aragon. The MotoGP team Yamaha cites the Dutchman as one of the four candidates to the place of the 38-year-old Italian to take.
“We have four candidates that Rossi can replace them,” said Yamaha team boss Lin Jarvis Saturday opposite Motorsport.com. “Those are our two test riders in Japan, Katsuyuki Nakasuga and Kohta Nozane, and our two Superbike riders Alex Lowes and Michael van der Mark. One of these four it is.”
Van der Mark is riding currently for Yamaha in the world Superbike. The 24-year-old South-Holland takes in that championship seventh place.
Rossi is at the moment out of circulation by a double fracture of the leg. He was injured in an accident during a training ride on a dirt bike near his home in the Italian Tavullia. Last week he left the hospital.
The negenvoudig world champion held at the end of may to a crash, all light kidney and liver damage. When he missed not a single Grand Prix.

Rossi is missing this weekend in the Grand Prix of San Marino. For that race, Yamaha has no replacement called up. For the next race in the Spanish Aragon is the renstal required again with two drivers at the start.
