Van Basten agreement with the KNVB about leaving on 1 October
Marco van Basten is leaving by 1 October as an assistant coach with the Dutch national team. That is the old-striker Thursday agreed with the KNVB.
The departure of the 51-year-old Van Basten was at the end of August. He gets a prominent role within the wereldvoetbalbond FIFA.
“I have a lot of pleasure and satisfaction worked in the team of Danny Blind, but the unexpected invitation from FIFA means for me a unique opportunity”, says Van Basten about his departure.
“I vetrouw out that the KNVB my departure in a professional manner know to fill in and I wish the staff and the players a lot of strength and good luck with the qualification to the world cup and I have every confidence that that is going to happen.”
Recently gave Van Basten that he look to the last world cup qualifier of the year on 13 november against Luxembourg in Orange would remain, unless before that time a successor would be found.
Van Basten between 2004 and 2008 coach of Orange and covenant last year as an assistant coach to the Dutch national team. Previously, he was head coach of Ajax, sc Heerenveen and AZ.
Previously departed Dick Advocaat as assistant coach Blind. After last season, stopped former striker Ruud van Nistelrooij also as an assistant. Team manager Hans Jorritsma leave at the end of this year Orange also.
