Utrechtse Heuvelrug is the first dementievriendelijke municipality

The Utrechtse Heuvelrug is the first community that Alzheimer Nederland has been elected a dementievriendelijke municipality.
The foundation sent a few people on the path who are employees of the municipality had to test it on their helpfulness.
“A lady came during a meeting with a councillor in with a question. She played a confused person. If you are then good acts according to certain criteria, then you pass your test,” explains mayor Frits Naafs on RTV Utrecht.

Alzheimer Nederland wants to use the test to make sure that municipalities are to take better account of dementia people. Due to the increasing ageing of the population is the number of people suffering from dementia has increased considerably.
Among other things, the municipality of Amsterdam, Groningen, Amstelveen and Teylingen work on the initiative of the foundation.
