A 5-year-old Utah boy called 911 after he discovered that his neighbor was stabbed to death Saturday, police said.
Belinda Thomas, 46, was found dead in her mobile home in West Valley City about 6:30 a.m. Saturday after the boy came to the house immediately after the fatal stabbing occurred, FOX13 reported. The boy was with Thomas’ 5-year-old son, who said that his mother was injured.
“That child, and Thomas’ five-year-old son were together, such as that 911 call was made,” police said. “The child that 911 then signed his own mother who went to Thomas’ house, confirmed that an incident had occurred and called 911.”

Thomas was found with multiple stab wounds.
Darren Byrd, 50, was arrested and accused of domestic violence in the presence of a child, aggravated murder, child abuse, obstruction of justice and possession of a weapon by a restricted person after police located him in his vehicle.
