USA is doing research on security of Internet of Things
The U.s. department of Justice investigation into the security of so-called Internet of Things-devices, such as self-propelled cars, medical equipment and smart home devices.
The so-called bedreigingsanalyseteam is set up to the devices to better protect against cyber attacks from terrorists, hackers or attackers.
A better protection is to avoid people to live, or that there are sensitive economic and political information can be captured through the network of Internet of Things (IoT).
IoT devices use the internet occasionally to a small amount of data to send or receive. More and more devices, such as smart thermostats and self-propelled cars, are in this way connected with internet.
The team of experts is already six months busy with the researching of the IoT. There are certain safety problems, in part because the network was not created with a veiligheidsoogmerk.
The group consists of five to ten persons, was John Carlin of the department know. It is not intended that the group as a “alarmistisch” about new technologies is seen. The intention is that at an early stage vulnerabilities can reveal.
