US imposes sanctions on Venezuela’s first lady, other government officials

WASHINGTON – The Trumpet administration has slapped financial sanctions on four members of the Venezuelan President, Nicolas Maduro of the inner circle, including his wife and the nation’s vice-president on allegations of corruption.

Sanctioned Tuesday, his First Wife, Cilia Flores, Vice President, Delcy Rodriguez, Minister of Communication, Jorge Rodriguez, and Minister of Defense Vladimir Padrino.

As part of the actions announced Tuesday, the Treasury Department also seized a $20 million private jet belonging to an alleged frontman for powerful socialist party boss (The Cabello.

The US has sanctioned dozens of top government officials, including Maduro himself as a part of a campaign to force him from power.
