WASHINGTON – The Trumpet administration is moving for the dismantling of the sanctions relief given to Iran under the 2015 nuclear deal President Donald Trump has withdrawn.
The Treasury Department on Wednesday revoked licences that allowed U.S.-controlled foreign companies to export commercial aircraft parts to Iran, as well as permit Americans to trade in the Iranian carpets, pistachios and caviar. He said companies involved in such transactions to wind operations by August 6, or penalties under U.S. sanctions.
The announcements had been expected since Asset in March drew the V. S. of the landmark agreement in which Iran was given relief from the sanctions in exchange for curbs on its nuclear program. Another set of licenses to be revoked in November.
