United States to the finals of Gold Cup after a win in Costa Rica
The United States have made Saturday night the final of the tournament for the Gold Cup achieved. The host country was in Arlington too strong for Costa Rica: 2-0.
Jozy Altidore and substitute Clint Dempsey made in the last twenty minutes the goals for the team of coach Bruce Arena. Dempsey, who is also the assist delivered by the hit of Altidore, celebrated his 57th goal for the national team and was therefore record-holder Landon Donovan.
The United States Wednesday in the final battle against the winner of the second semi-final, Sunday night between defending champion Mexico and Jamaica.
The Americans won the tournament for countries from North and Central America and the Caribbean five times, in 1991, 2002, 2005, 2007 and 2013. Mexico was in the previous edition, two years ago, for the seventh time the strongest.
