Underground bierpijplijn Bruges officially opened

In the Belgian city of Bruges is today the underground bierpijplijn of town brewery (The Half Moon) was officially opened.
The over three-kilometre-long pipeline transports beer from a factory outside the city to the old brewery in the centre.
The Half-Moon brews the beers Straffe Hendrik and Brugse Zot. The lead to 43 metres under the ground. “If we have the faucet opened, then it takes about 45 minutes to the beer in the bottling plant arrives”, says CEO Xavier Vanneste at press agency Belga.
Thanks to the pipeline allows the brewery to expand, and having no trucks between the factory and the brewery to drive.
Vanneste: “We have the beer in the laboratory was thoroughly checked and everything is in order. The taste is preserved, and there is also no change in the microbacteriën, what is most important.”
The bierpijplijn was funded thanks to a successful crowdfundingsactie the end of 2015. The most generous donors were rewarded with a life long, and each day a free bottle of Brugse Zot.
