in the vicinity ofthe video Howard Kurtz: wall-to-wall TV, as a convicted criminal Michael Cohen accuses ex-boss Donald Trump

‘MediaBuzz’ host Howard Kurtz weighs in on the Michael Cohen spectacle in front of the House Oversight Committee, and whether or not his statement was damaging to President Trump.

Michael Cohen came to Capitol Hill with a double-barreled message: He is “ashamed” of what he did for Donald Trump and all the terrible things that has made the President.

With his words, carried by the broadcast networks and cable sale, the Cohen, repeatedly in conflict with the Republicans, who attacked him as a liar and a fraud, while the Democrats tried to run from his statements for maximum effect.

The President is the former lawyer mostly his composure maintained, if he pushed angrily back to a few GOP members of the House Oversight Committee, which attacked aggressively with him. At one point, he trump emotional, the critical legislator for the use of the same wrong tactics denounced, he has worked for a decade in protection.

The bottom line: the all-day spectacle little to change the minds of trump supporters, who see him as a pathetic convicted criminal, or Trump’s opponents, who see him as a reformed sinner, now shines a light on the President’s dark deeds.

MICHAEL COHEN ‘ S HEARING BEFORE THE HOUSE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE, HOW IT HAPPENED

He said he had no evidence for Russian collusion, but paint the President as a fraud who approved of the racist statements, hush money payments, and was told in advance from Roger stone over the Wikileaks dump of Democratic E-Mails (quickly denied stone).

To say the surprises: Cohen, he has to book an offer, offers, TV deals and a movie option, but has not taken any of them, since he went to prison. Some also aim their fire power on Clinton loyalist Lanny Davis for the representation of Cohen, who said Davis will not be paid for his services. Cohen also blow into the trump of tweets about his family, said the President was trying to “intimidate” him in the hope that “something bad is about to happen” to him, his wife or his children.

To say, this was a very negative portrait of the man he served loyally as a “middle man” is an understatement. But it’s also fair that brought in with the exception of the controversial call from stone, Cohen, not a bomb for free.

STORMY DANIELS, MICHAEL COHEN SAYS: “I’M PROUD OF YOU’ TO THE TESTIMONY

The President, the role in the reimbursement of Cohen for the payment of Stormy Daniels, is important, but that it had to be. His memory of Trump’s disparaging, “s—hole” countries, which was reported by black leaders, in a different context.

Cohen said he assumed that Don, Jr., referred to the infamous Trump Tower meeting, as he whispered to his father that an unknown was to meet, but had no evidence.

Then the other Trump Tower, the one that was built there, in Moscow. Cohen, the President asked him about said, and lied about his lack of knowledge. But this story has also been reported.

Cohen’s claim that Trump had him in the schools threaten not to release the heads of the notes can be embarrassing, but it is a little high crimes and misdemeanors.

And then there was the question of whether the President told him to lie to Congress, as reported by BuzzFeed, in a story that prompted a denial from Robert Mueller’s office.

“Mr. Trump did not directly say that to me lie to Congress. That’s not how he works,” said Cohen. Instead, he said, “Mr. Trump had made it clear to me, through his personal statements to me that we knew both of us were wrong, and by his lies to the country that he wanted me to lie.”

Ranking member Jim Jordan, the most aggressive Republican, asked why Cohen, Lanny Davis, to deny the BuzzFeed account, when he appeared on television to this day.

“Because I don’t think it was his responsibility to do,” said Cohen. “We are not fact checkers for Buzzfeed.”

If Cohen felt that Jordan was wrong to best his account of riding from the charge for which he pleaded guilty, the witness briefly looked up, exasperated, and said: “shame on you!”

The GOP’s dismissal of Cohen and the hearing itself grew repetitive as the day wore on. At one point, Chris Christie said on ABC, “It was a Republican who tried to defend the President on the substance.”

In one of the most surreal moments, it is also a democratic question about the mythical Golden shower tape, with Cohen says he has no reason to believe that it exists.

Before Cohen began his testimony, the President weighed in from Vietnam, said: “he was only deprived of a license by the state court for lying & fraud. He did bad things, to Outdo in any respect. He’s lying to a reduction in his prison time.”

The bottom line: Trump’s image in any case got scuffed up yesterday, but from a guy who had soiled his own reputation. I don’t think that the ball is moving very much.
