The United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly voted to condemn on Thursday to recognize the President Trump the decision of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

The 128 member States of the UN General Assembly voted to move to condemn Trump, with only seven other countries in the accession of the United States and Israel in voting against the resolution. There were 35 abstentions.

The vote was taken, shortly after the US Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, and issued a strong warning to States that support the resolution — and reminds the General Assembly of the financial help Washington provides both the UN and many member States.

“We notice it when we are called once again to the world’s greatest contribution to the United Nations,” she said. “And, we will remind, in so many countries, and calls come to us, as they so often do, even more numbers, and to use our influence and to use it for their advantage.”

Haley added that the Thursday vote “will make a difference, like the Americans, the U. consider n and as we look at the country, the lack of respect that will remain with us in the U. N., and this vote in your memory.”

The resolution was co-sponsored by Turkey, Chairman of the summit of the organization of Islamic cooperation, and Yemen, the Chairman of the Arab group meeting at the U. N.

Haley ‘ s hazards-both on the floor of the General Assembly, and on Twitter — drew sharp criticism from the supporters of the resolution, who accused the US of intimidation.

“This is bullying”,” Turkish foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said. “It is unethical to think that our votes for sale.”
