UN secretary-general, Antonio Guterres and EU foreign minister Federica Mogherini expressed Tuesday strong criticism at Israel, after the Israeli parliament Monday a law believed that thousands of homes in settlements in the occupied West Bank legitimiseert.
Under the provisions of the act is the construction of approximately four thousand homes of Jewish settlers on Palestinian land retroactively approved.
ecretaris-general, Antonio Guterres, the United Nations said Tuesday through his spokesman that the decision of the Israeli parliament, is contrary to international laws. According to Guterres Israel will be the legal consequences of experience.
“The secretary-general emphasizes that the actions that a two-state solution in the road should be avoided,” said spokesman Stephane Dujarric.
EU foreign minister Federica Mogherini said that the law, if implemented, will lead to dangerous new territory. “It would be the reality of one state with unequal rights, an ongoing occupation and conflict, let the burrow.”
Mogherini stressed that the EU and the Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories are considered illegal.
It is quite possible that the new law only a symbolic gesture will prove to be, because that is at odds with rulings of the Israeli supreme court about property rights.
The Israeli public prosecutor has already said that he is the law will not defend it before the supreme court, because he that as unconstitutional is considered.
