Uma Thurman thinks women feel empowered by films such as Kill Bill. That said the actress during a question – and-answer session at the Karlovy Vary film Festival in the Czech republic. The 47-year-old Thurman played the main role in both Kill Bill movies directed by Quentin Tarantino.
“Women were often on me, and then they told me that the film she has helped in their life, because they are downtrodden, had a hard time trying, a bad partner, or insecure about themselves,” said Thurman. “Kill Bill gave these women the energy to survive and that helps. It is one of the most rewarding things I have ever experienced as a reaction to a work of art”, added the actress.
Thurman, her 15-year-old son Levon Roan had taken to the film festival, was asked what Tarantino-movie the favorite is of her children. After much hesitation it was her son who, from the audience called out that Pulp Fiction was the favorite film in the house of Thurman.
The actress has, apart from Levon Roan is still an 18-year-old daughter named Maya, with her former husband, actor Ethan Hawke. Also, she has a 5-year-old daughter Luna of her ex-boyfriend, French banker Arpad Busson.
