(Reuters) – a british competition regulator said on Wednesday it had launched a formal investigation into Amazon.com Inc., investments in the food delivery business Deliveroo, is the setting up of a December 11 deadline for a decision in few.rs/2ONs4b0 at the initial stage of the probe.
The Competition and Markets (CMA), said that it was looking into whether Amazon’s investment will be in May, when it led a $575 million fund raising, it could lead to a substantial reduction of competition in the United Kingdom.
Deliveroo, a Uk-based online food delivery company Amazon’s entry is required to put themselves at Uber Eats (UBER.In the race to dominate the market for take-out meals, at a value of about $100 billion around the world.
The CMA ordered on Amazon, and Deliveroo to operate independently on the concern that the business had ” ceased to be distinguishable,” or the adoption of regulations that would result in the same.
However, Amazon said its investment will allow the Deliveroo to expand its range of services and the creation of new jobs.
Amazon declined to comment, while the Deliveroo not immediately respond to Reuters ‘ request for comment on the CMA’s probe further notice.
