BERKELEY, California. – The university of California, Berkeley officials say that they are a “serious concern” of violence on the campus as Ann Coulter follows through on her threat to speak next week on the campus.
Officials instead are a proposal for an alternative date of the following month.
Chancellor Nicholas B. Dirks said Thursday that the police “very specific intelligence related to the threats” and urged the conservative author to arrive on 2 May.
UC Berkeley announced a day earlier that calling out Coulter scheduled 27 April speaking event because of the safety, indications, Coulter say they plan to come anyway.
Dirks said Coulter response from him led to the launch of an extensive search for an “appropriate, defensible place.”
