‘Uber wants former ceo General Electric as new CEO
The board of Uber would be a former senior executive of multinational General Electric (GE) as the new CEO of the taxi service.
Uber would have three possible successors to consider for the June opgestapte former CEO Travis Kalanick. Is Jeff Immelt the favorite, say sources at Recode.
Immelt was between 2001 and August 2017, CEO of GE, and is now chairman of the supervisory board of the conglomerate. The 61-year-old American would, according to the board of Uber is in the best position to the ruined culture, and the tarnished reputation of the taxi service to repair.
The former GE ceo is praised for his unwavering leadership style. With that reputation would Immelt Uber be suitable for the ipo, which for a long time rumors about.
It is not yet sure whether Immelt, indeed, the CEO of Uber. The other two candidates would even be considered. It is not known who the other two candidates.
Within two weeks
Expected to agree to the board of Uber within two weeks about a new CEO. The vote need not be unanimous, a majority is sufficient.
Former CEO Travis Kalanick got into June after pressure from the board of directors at Uber. The scandals at the taxi service to and followed each other in quick succession, and the board trusted Kalanick insufficient for that tide to turn.
Rumors that Kalanick himself again the CEO wanted to go to occupy, were recently launched by Uber co-founder and board member Garrett Camp refuted.
Would Kalanick being obstructive in the search for a new CEO. Since his retirement, he is still a member of the board of directors. Kalanick himself denies bothering to lie.
